mountain & the see

Today we got to meet Sixto Durán Ballén, the former president of Ecuador from 1992-1996. He also happens to be the father of our director here at Casa Victoria and a real cool cat! An avid stamp collector (over 120 albums full of them), father of nine, and also the former mayor of Quito, Sixto was probably one of the most unassuming and humble individuals I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Not to mention his lovely wife Fina. What a blessing to be in his home and hear a little bit about an incredible life that has been very well-lived.
