[life right now]

i remember right after i graduated, all that i wanted to do was hop on a plane and experience new places and faces, all the time. well friends, be careful what you wish for.

these past few weeks have been such a whirlwind - it feels like i never sleep in the same bed, i think i've met an average of fifteen new people every day, and have covered more territory in this country than i think i have in my own. although i am constantly tired and never know what each day is going to hold...i love it.

i love that i've had to give up control of so many of the silly little 'necessities' that i think i need. i love that people linger the table for hours here, and take an average of forty-five minutes just to say goodbye at the end of the night. i love the way families and friends greet each and every person in the room when they arrive and when they leave, down to the teensiest children and eldest of grandpa's.

thanking God at the end of this day for my ever-changing horizons and for the wonderful country of Ecuador. i feel so lucky to be here.
